Not your Average Game Con! (It's much smaller.)

Gamesquall's Illustrious History

From humble origins to humble... nowigins.

Long, long ago, Jake (Gamesquall’s founder) was a mild-mannered game geek with a bunch of game geek friends.  Each year, he’d make the drive from Cottage Grove to Portland to participate in the GameStorm convention.

Then the Great Recession hit.  Jobs were lost, and many people (including Jake) had to reconsider their GameStorm plans.  So in April of 2009, Jake opened up his home to host “GameSquall”, a tiny, poor-man’s version of GameStorm for the gamers in his local area who couldn’t attend GameStorm.

It was a hit, so he did it again the next year, but it quickly outgrew his house.  That’s when the local Odd Fellows Lodge stepped in, providing a much bigger space for the event, and the annual game day evolved into a monthly thing, with a bigger New Year’s Eve event capping off each year.

Now Jake’s moved to Tillamook County, and the Gamesquall game collection has come with him.

And so Gamesquall continues!
